I am pleased to let patients know that our first batch of flu vaccines has arrived at the practice. This Saturday 11th September, we will be holding our first flu clinic, focussing on vaccinating people aged 65 or over.
This week we have begun to send invitations to patients about booking their flu vaccine. An update from Practice Nurse Team Lead Sue Mensforth Every autumn, the NHS commits significant resources to get people vaccinated against flu. Last year, against the backdrop of Covid and mounting pressures on the NHS, more people than ever before were offered a free NHS flu shot.
If you’re aged between 50 and 64 you can call us to book your free NHS flu jab. Book your appointment now on 0191 281 4588. Our Reception Team are here to take your call from 8:15 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
We still have appointments available for our flu vaccination clinic this Saturday. The session is primarily for people aged 50 to 64 with no pre-existing health conditions and is by appointment only.
An update on our flu vaccination plans – the vaccines for people aged 50-64 have now arrived with us at JHP. If you are in this age group we are now able to take bookings for our clinic on Saturday 12th December. We will be contacting all eligible patients in the coming days.
You might have seen that more people than ever before are able to get a free NHS flu vaccination this year. The expanded eligibility is designed to reduce the strain the NHS will face over the winter months when the traditional flu season combines with the ongoing pandemic.
