Travel Risk Assessment
If you’re planning a trip abroad, you may need to think about whether you need any vaccinations.
The first step is to check the Travel Health Pro website and look up your destination country.
Please check there is enough time to get all of the vaccinations you need before you go. Some vaccines need to be given well in advance of travel, and others may need to be ordered specially.
Next, you need to contact us via askmyGP or by calling 0191 281 4588. We will send you a link to a travel form to complete.
Then you need to make an appointment with us. We will check that we have the vaccinations available, although you may need to get some from a specialist travel clinic.
Below are the vaccines we can give at the Practice (subject to availability). Some are free on the NHS, and others require payment.
Free on the NHS | Available at a Cost |
---|---|
Diptheria/tetanus/polio (one vaccination) | Hepatitis B – Adult (£40) Hepatitis B – Child (£30) |
Hepatitis A (adult & child) | Japanese encephalitis x 2 (£90 per vaccine) |
Typhoid | Meningitis ACWY (£70) |
Rabies x 3 (£60 per vaccine) |
If you require other vaccinations, you will need to arrange those through a specialist travel clinic.
