PRACTICE NURSE TEAM LEAD

I am the Practice Nurse Team Lead at Jesmond Health Partnership.

The team consists of 4 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care Assistants.

As with most teams at JHP, some of us are full time, others part time, and we work between the two sites at No 17 and No 200 Osborne Road.

Meet the Nursing Team Here

Each of our roles has different responsibilities, so we thought it worthwhile giving patients an illustration of the sorts of thing each of us does every day.

We also have a team of Nurse Practitioners at the Practice, and we’ll introduce you to them soon.

Practice Nurses – Me, Briege, Fiona and Pip

A major part of our role is carrying out reviews with patients who have long term health conditions – these happen every year, so we get to know patients after a while. If it’s time for your child to have their immunisations, your cervical screening is due or you need vaccinations for travelling abroad, then we’re the people you’ll most likely see.

Health Care Assistants (HCAs) – Carol and Val

HCAs work closely with our Nurses to provide care for patients. Typically this is things like taking blood samples, wound dressings, blood pressure reading and carrying out NHS Health Checks for people over 40. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed our HCAs work, as it has for many of us, and share some of that with patients in the next week or so.

As a team, we’re here to look after you as patients and give you the care you need.

We’re aware that lots of the work we normally do with patients has been delay or paused due to the pandemic. We’ll make sure to update you as things change and start to get back to normal.
