I began summarising patient notes, then was trained to be able to cover Reception where I’ve been greeting patients and answering calls.

We have a small group of other medical students who are on hand to provide help when needed and part of my role has been to give them the training they need.

                                                                                    Suzanne Gardner

My role is to support and train the reception team to deliver the best patient care and experience possible.  I engage with patients, GPs and other team leads  to strategize how we can continue to develop and provide the best care for our patients.  I look after and implement systems to help with the daily operations of both of the sites.

Previously I’ve worked in other GP practices, as a Pharmacy Technician, as well as managing school out of hours provisions and working with children with autism and ADHD.

I’ve been with JHP since 2018. I’m full time and based predominately at No 17 Osborne Road.

                                                                                                    Dominic Anumudu

I’ve been with Jesmond Health Partnership since April 2020, having previously worked at another GP practice in Newcastle.

My role covers parts of both the Reception and Admin teams. As well as speaking with patients in person and over the phone and completing admin tasks, I also work with Gail on data quality and have some IT responsibilities.

I’m full time, working at both No 17 and No 200.

                                                                                                        Marilyn Barredo

My work in the Reception Team centres on assisting patients with scheduling appointments, filing, record keeping and a range of other admin tasks.

Prior to coming to JHP in January 2020, I worked in pathology laboratories for Public Health England.

I’m full time, working at both sites on Osborne Road.

                                                                                                            Pat Browell

I’ve been at the practice since 2008 and work in the Reception team.

This means answering calls and meeting patients, as well as carrying out a wide range of general admin duties.

I work between the two sites on a part time basis.

                                                                                                                Erin Clift

Since January 2020 I’ve been providing Admin/Reception support to JHP when needed.

Providing cover means I need to be able to carry out admin tasks as well as speak to patients and make sure they get to the help they need.

I’m work at both sites on a part-time basis, and also study Law at University.

I joined Jesmond Health Partnership as an Apprentice in March 2020.

One of my main job roles is to welcome patients when they arrive for their appointments, take samples or answer any queries. Another responsibility is to print off records of patients who are no longer registered with us, and make sure our information is up to date. I worked in New Look before joining JHP.

I’m full time and split my time between the two sites.

                                                                                                                        Nicole Lindsay

I work as a Receptionist having joined the team in 2017 after studying childcare at college.

My role is to help patients and deal with their queries as efficiently as possible. This covers a lot of things but mainly revolves around booking appointments, making sure prescriptions are processed and everything else.

I work full time between both sites.

Before starting in Jesmond in March 2020 I worked as a Health Care Assistant at a psychiatric hospital.

I work on a part time basis at both sites.

In December 2019 I started with the Reception team at JHP.

I deal with patient queries, problem solve, and provide administrative guidance during patient care, both in-person and over the phone. As part of the Reception Team, I deal sympathetically with patients on the phone and in person. The most common tasks for me are repeat prescriptions requests and repeat dispensing, filing hospital letters, reports, scanning and updating patient records.

I joined the team in 2016 from Falcon Medical Group where I was a Medical Receptionist.

                                                                                                                                    I’m currently on maternity leave.

Primary Care Networks, or PCNS, are groups of GP practices working together to meet patients' changing needs.

We are part of the Jesmond Lower Gosforth PCN along with Grove Medical Group, Roseworth Surgery and Avenue Surgery.

One of many benefits PCNs bring patients is access to expert new roles, such as Clinical Pharmacists and Social Prescribing Link Workers.

                                                                                                                                        Thomas Byrne

                                                                                                                                        Clinical Pharmacist

I work with GP surgeries in Gosforth and Jesmond to improve prescribing, particularly for older patients and people who take a large number of medicines.

As a pharmacist, I can focus on making sure medicines are safe, effective, appropriate, based on the latest guidance, and suited to the individual.

I do in-depth medication reviews with patients, based on what matters to them and how they find the experience of taking medicines.

I’ve worked and trained in hospitals and general practice in both Leeds and Newcastle, and completed a Masters in Pharmacy from the University of Sunderland in 2017. I started working with JHP in November 2019.

                                                                                                                                            Carol Dolderson

                                                                                                                                            Clinical Pharmacist

My focus is NHSE Network Contract DES and Enhanced Health in Care Homes or complex medicines reviews. Social Prescribing Link Worker

My role is to help people aged 65 and over with social issues, including social isolation, loneliness and frailty.

I visit people at home and forge links with community groups.

                                                                                                                                                        Social Prescribing Link Worker

My role is to help people aged 65 and over with social issues, including social isolation, loneliness and frailty.

Being community-based means I can visit people at home, and forge links with community groups.

I take the time to get to know people and what matters to them. By increasing their confidence and linking them to community services and groups, people can be empowered to take control of their health and wellbeing.

Over my 15 years in the NHS, I’ve worked in physiotherapy and mental health services, and with adults with learning disabilities. I started working with JHP in December 2019.

                                                                                                                                                            Lauren Woods

                                                                                                                                                            Care Coordinator

As a care coordinator I work alongside care home patients, their family and carers to create personalised care and support plans. I spend time discussing what is important to the patient and ensure that their care is coordinated in a way that reflects their care plan.

Before coming to Jesmond in November 2020, I worked within a supportive environment with a range of different individuals supporting with housing, homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, and general advice/wellbeing.

I work fulltime between JHP, and the three other practices in the Jesmond Lower Gosforth PCN.
