Thank you for your feedback – June 2026 results

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback about their experience with our practice in June. Your views help us understand what’s working well and where we can make improvements.

In June, 377 patients took the NHS Friends and Family Test and shared their thoughts on JHP. Over 92% of respondents rated us as “Good” or “Very Good”.

As ever, speed of access, prompt resolution, and the care and professionalism of our team featured strongly in your comments. Here’s a small selection of what you had to say.

Getting this feedback every month is invaluable. It helps us identify areas where we can improve or where we may need to explain things more clearly.

With that in mind, there were a couple of comments we thought worth responding to:

It would be better if we could also access ask my gp out of office hours I think everyone would understand that the request would not be actioned until the next day.

We really appreciate this suggestion, and we understand why being able to use Ask My GP out of hours would feel more convenient.

However, we don’t accept requests outside opening hours for patient safety reasons. Even if requests are not actioned until the next day, they still need to be safely received, reviewed, and prioritised. Without a clinical or admin team on duty, urgent problems could be missed.

There is also a second safety issue. If requests were allowed overnight, they would build up and create a large surge first thing in the morning. This would increase pressure on the team and delay responses for all patients at the start of the day.

To keep patients safe and ensure fair access, we only accept requests when our team is available to manage them properly.

My only criticism is medical emergency is open to interpretation. So I cancelled my request on Monday and Tuesday because it was ME only and only submitted my request on Wednesday even though I was concerned about my breathing and possible allergy.

We understand that “urgent” can sometimes be hard to judge.

When we use “Urgent Only” mode, it means the issue needs to be looked at today. This could be a new problem that has come on suddenly, or a long-term condition that has got worse.

A simple way to decide is:

  • Am I much worse today than yesterday?
  • Has something changed so I need help today when I didn’t yesterday?

If the answer is yes, your request is urgent and we want to help you as soon as possible.

Regular Feedback

Regular feedback also allows us to track trends over time and hold ourselves to a consistently high standard.

Our Performance Tracker shows not only the most recent feedback, but also our year-to-date totals, along with data going back to 2020. Take a look.
