Boots on St George’s Terrace to close in October
We have received notice that the Boots branch on St George’s Terrace in Jesmond is due to close permanently on 13th October 2023.
If this branch of Boots is your nominated pharmacy for collecting medication, you will need to make a change before October.
You can change your nominated pharmacy through the NHS App.
Nominated Pharmacies in the NHS App
Below are example step-by-step instructions and screenshots showing how to change your nominated pharmacy.
- Open the NHS App on your phone (or go to the online version on your computer)
- Log in
- Tap Prescriptions in the bottom centre
- Tap the green Change your nominated pharmacy button
- Choose High street pharmacies under type.
- Tap the green Continue button
- Enter your postcode and tap the green Search button
- Choose your preferred Pharmacy from the options you see
- Tap the green Continue button
- Double-check the details on the confirmation page
If you are unable to make this change in the NHS App, the browser version, or have an NHS login, you can ask to nominate a new pharmacy next time you collect a prescription from Boots.
