How we are getting ready for flu season this year

An update from Practice Nurse Team Lead Sue Mensforth Every autumn, the NHS commits significant resources to get people vaccinated against flu. Last year, against the backdrop of Covid and mounting pressures on the NHS, more people than ever before were offered a free NHS flu shot.

An update on our flu vaccination plans – the vaccines for people aged 50-64 have now arrived with us at JHP. If you are in this age group we are now able to take bookings for our clinic on Saturday 12th December. We will be contacting all eligible patients in the coming days.

You might have seen that more people than ever before are able to get a free NHS flu vaccination this year. The expanded eligibility is designed to reduce the strain the NHS will face over the winter months when the traditional flu season combines with the ongoing pandemic.
