The Move to Universal Credit in Newcastle
Eligible households that haven’t applied for Universal Credit could be missing out on £300 a month.
Universal Credit will replace these six different benefits and tax credit:
- Child and Working Tax Credits
- Income-related Employment and support Allowance
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance.
If you have received a letter from Newcastle City Council inviting you to claim Universal Credit, please make sure to do so.
Your existing benefits will end three months after the date on your letter, so make sure to apply to protect your income and things like free school meals and prescriptions.
