Patient Information: How We Work
How We Work at Jesmond Health Partnership (JHP)
When you need medical help, you want it to be easy.
Our aim is to get you to the right person for your needs, first time.
The sections below will help you get to know the practice, understand how we work, and show you some quick tips on how to get the care and support you need.
New patients are always welcome. Find out how to register as a patient and meet the team who are here to help you.
Appointments with askmyGP
Our approach is digital-first. You can contact our Doctors online, explain what’s happening in your own words, and choose how you would like us to reply.
It is quick, safe, and easy. Many patients get help without needing to visit the practice. If we do need to see you, this is often on the same day.
For routine appointments, please send your request as early as you can in the morning.
Go to our Appointments with askmyGP page to see how it works, video guides and everything else you need.
Prescriptions in the NHS App
The quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.
There are no phone calls and no need to wait for us to open. You can make your request with just a few taps, whenever it suits you.
We aim to process prescriptions within two working days, but this may take longer during busy times or if a review is needed.
Patient Participation Group
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet together to discuss patients’ experiences of the GP services.
It gives patients a voice in how improvements can be made.
For more information about the PPG, including their latest newsletter, minutes of recent meetings, and everything you need to join the group, take a look at our PPG page.
