Patient Participation Group Membership
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) brings together patients, carers, and staff to improve services and share feedback. Every GP practice has one, helping ensure care stays patient-focused and collaborative.
You can find out more about the PPG’s work, or the two types of membership and how to join using the buttons below.
Full Membership
Full membership of Jesmond Health Partnership Patient Participation Group is open to any patient over the age of 18 and registered with the practice, carers of patients registered with Jesmond Health Partnership, and members of the practice staff.
A membership application form is available from the PPG pages on the JHP website or as a paper version on request from the reception desks in any of the four surgeries.
Members will receive a regular quarterly newsletter with updates about the practice including workload and staffing statistics, and information on recent practice or NHS updates and initiatives. It will also highlight the work of the PPG and how we can make a difference.
Members will be invited to participate in PPG activities such as information events (for example, about proposed vaccination and screening sessions), promotional events for better health care, participation in patient surveys and other PPG activities. Members will also be encouraged to contribute to the PPG newsletter.
Members will be invited to online events and some face-to-face meetings to share knowledge and understanding and can suggest topics of interest.
Any member of the PPG can forward a comment, an idea or general concern to the Committee to add to the agenda to discuss with the Practice, for example, around how the Practice functions, or difficulties with contact.
NB The PPG does not deal with individual patient issues. There are statutory routes for such concerns such as the practice complaints procedure or see the NHS website. PPG members are not privy to any personal details of patients. Medical records are always confidential.
