Managing Your Child’s Health with Proxy Access on the NHS App: A Quick Guide

Want to manage your child’s health easily? With proxy access on the NHS App, you can view and book appointments, order prescriptions, and check medical records—all in one place.

It’s simple and secure, and here’s how to get started:

What is Proxy Access?

Proxy access allows you to use the NHS App to manage someone else’s healthcare, like your child’s.

It’s perfect for parents and carers who want to keep track of their child’s appointments, prescriptions, and health information.

You can also use proxy access for other relatives – like an older parent – or anyone else you care for.

Getting Set Up

Proxy access can be given to parents, legal guardians or carers. Anyone aged 13 and over needs to consent to you having access to their records.

  1. Download the NHS App. See our guide to getting started with the NHS App.
  2. Login or create an account for you
  3. Use our online form to request access. We can only give access if you and the other patient are both registered with us.
  4. Our Admin team will process the request. Once approved, your profiles will be linked.

Benefits

  • Appointment Booking: Never miss a vaccination or check-up.
  • Prescription Ordering: Request a repeat with just a few taps
  • Health Record Access: Stay informed about your child’s medical history.
