We all know what a strange year it’s been, and how many parts of our daily lives have changed.
For those of you who haven’t been to the practice recently, we thought it might be useful to show you what a visit to JHP is like at the moment.
Yes, a lot has changed – the masks and regular hand sanitising we’re all now used to. But the core of what we do is the same. From the Reception and Admin teams to the Nurses and Doctors, we’re here to help and give you the care you need.
Business as (new) normal
While more and more of us are doing things remotely, some things need to stay old fashioned and be done in person. The technology isn’t there for online flu jabs or taking blood just yet!
You’ll see fewer faces around the waiting rooms when you visit, as we’re making sure we practice social distancing. There are sanitiser dispensers dotted around regularly too, and of course, everyone is required to wear a mask in any NHS location.
Our consultation rooms will look the same but will be sanitised in-between every patient appointment. We’ll have our faces covered, and will be wearing gloves and aprons. From there, it’s very much ‘as you were’, the same friendly, professional service we pride ourselves on.
Services are running
Earlier on in the year, lots of non-urgent services throughout the NHS were paused, including screening programmes and patient referrals.
Everything has now restarted and is catching up, so you can expect routine appointments, health checks and screenings all to take place.
One thing to be aware of though, is that we have to limit the number of people in the practice at any one time. That does means for cervical screenings, for example, you’re not able to bring someone with you for support.
It’s really important that routine things like blood tests, flu clinics and screenings go ahead, so it’s our number 1 priority to make sure you feel comfortable and safe when you visit us.
