Dr Katie Rinne

General Practitioner

Hello, I’m Dr Katie Rinne, one of the GPs at JHP. I joined the practice in April this year when COVID had already meant big changes to how the NHS and general practice operated.

On the face of it, a lot is different. But behind that, our job is to be accessible to you as patients, to give you the care and treatment you need, and make sure your health comes first.

Remote appointments and waiting times

If you’ve been in touch with us recently, you’ll probably know we made a big change in the summer.

We moved to a digital-first approach, meaning you can send us requests online, and choose how you’d like us to respond.

In lots of cases – some days it’s 4 out of every 5 patients – we can resolve issues either through a quick phone call or a few messages back and forth.

It’s getting some really good feedback, with patients especially pleased with how quick, efficient and convenient it is. And definitely pleased not to have to queue on the phone and then wait 2 weeks to be seen.

This also means that when a face to face appointment is needed, we can normally see you on the same day.

Visiting the practice

As I’m sure you can imagine, there are a few measures in places to keep us all safe in the practice. We ask that you not arrive early for your appointment, use the hand sanitiser that’s readily available, practice social distancing and, of course, wear a mask.

All the clinical staff will be wearing masks, gloves and aprons and the consultation rooms are sterilised in between appointments. But other than that, it’s exactly the same as you’d expect. Just you and the Doctor talking through your issue and deciding on the best course of action.
