This week there are multiple options to get vaccinated in Newcastle. Vaccination is open to all adults over the age of 18 and we recommend that every person take up the option of getting vaccinated.
Vaccines are our best route out of the pandemic, and more than 50% of the population is now fully vaccinated with two doses.
About the vaccines
All available covid-19 vaccines are safe. They go through several stages of clinical trials before being approved. As with all vaccines, there is a chance of side effects. For most people these will be mild and pass quickly. Serious side effects are extremely rare.
When you book your appointment, you will be given the best type for you age group and medical history.
Full information on the different types of vaccine and side effects can be found here.
Where can I get vaccinated?
You have a choice of venues and times across Newcastle. Our interactive map below shows each location and what you need to do.
Appointments are Community Pharmacies and large vaccination sites can be booked in advance by calling 119 or by using the National Booking System.
There are also drop-in vaccination clinics – the ‘pop up’ at the Centre for Life in the city centre, and the Vaccine Outreach Bus which will move across different parts of the city. No appointment is necessary.
