Make Christmas as safe as possible

To keep as many of us as safe as possible, we need as much protection as possible. That means:

  • Getting as many jabs as you are able to (1 for twelve to fifteen year olds; 2 for 16-17 year olds, and 2 plus a booster for over 18s).
  • Take lateral flow tests regularly, especially if visiting others.
  • If you have any symptoms – cough, fever, loss of east or smell or more cold-like symptoms with the newer variants – you need a PCR test. Arrange a test, and isolate until you get a negative result. Lateral flow tests are not sensitive enough if you already have symptoms.
  • Wear a mask or face covering when inside or in crowded spaces like shops, cinemas, museums, public transport and of course all NHS settings.
