All adults can now book a covid-19 vaccination. Since the announcements that anyone aged 18 or over can get a jab, more than 1 million appointments have been booked – a rate of 21,000 every hour or 6 every second.
Visit NHS.uk to book your vaccination today.
You will be able to book your first and second jabs at the same time. The second will normally be 11-12 weeks after the first and gives you stronger and longer-lasting protection.
Four in five people have received their first vaccination, and three in five have had both doses.
The national booking system has appointments at the mass vaccinations sites – the nearest being Centre for Life in Newcastle and Newcastle Eagles (details in our vaccines FAQ). You will be able to book your first and second vaccination appointments at the same time.
If you cannot book online, we’d ask patients to call the national booking line directly on 119, rather than calling the practice.
Bringing forward second vaccines
Patients in priority groups 1-9 – those 50 or over or with health conditions – now have the option to bring their second jab forward to 8 weeks rather than 12.
To do this, patients will need to book a second appointment via the national booking system at this link.
If you are unable to book through the system, please email Newcastle GP Services (NGPS), who are coordinating vaccinations across the city, at ngps.covidvaccination@nhs.net including your name, date of birth, contact number, date of first vaccine, original second dose booking appointment and type of first vaccine.
You will need to enter your details, including your NHS number and date of your first vaccination, then choose your preferred location and date.
